BURDEN-SOCIAL MEDIA AUDIT
•ABOUT YOU:
My google search was quick and reflective as I currently don’t have any social media profiles so in place of my own platforms, other related sites or people of a similar namesake came up! While this may seem un-beneficial for my future careers, I have never had instagram and honestly don’t have any current plans to ever have one. My mental wellbeing is always my top priority and I prefer to maintain hobbies that force me to disconnect in such a tech involved world.
•CONTENT:
As stated above, I don’t post any content but I have begun the workings of potentially starting my own Substack as a creative writing outlet. In this, I would share my passion for art history through writing opinion pieces on some of my favorite paintings, artists, and styles as it relates to the modern world.
•FREQUENCY:
While I can’t answer this question, I can reflect on my engagement with the world around me. I value my friends and loved ones but I also often get caught up in my own head or any current happenings in my life so I am definitely not always the best at responding on text or call or anything.
•PERSONALITY:
I dont have posts so unfortunately not but if I did regularly post I would hope that my interests like art, knitting, and reading would reflect!
•PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS: I have not but after doing this audit I hope to focus on making a LinkedIn profile to help reflect my aspirations.
•JOURNALISM SKILLS:
My social media is not reflective of my journalistic skills due to a lack in profiles but if you do a deep dive on google you may find some blog posts of mine from various Comms classes over my time at WCC that reflect these learned skills.
Matamoros-My Social Media Audit
ABOUT YOU:
After searching myself on Google, I realized I do not have a large social media presence. I also just found out that some of my information is on a couple different websites like Adapt, Zoominfo, and TruePeopleSearch. My Facebook and Pinterest profiles also show up but I do not really have a bio for neither of them and I am not really active on my Facebook anymore. I do not have any professional photos, I just use some selfies I took and use them for my profile photos across different social media platforms like Instagram, Tiktok, X, and Facebook.
CONTENT: The content I typically share is just on Instagram like some photos of myself, my friends and family, food, and any new places that I try. I do not think my social media content is an accurate reflection of my interests but maybe some of my general interests like any fun activities that I do and post.
FREQUENCY: I do not post everyday but the social media platform I am more active on is Instagram. I usually post stories maybe like 5-8 times a month and an actual post like every 4-5 months. I do not post any tiktoks and I rarely post on Facebook or X.
PERSONALITY: My posts do not say much about me, since I do not like to share much about my personal life on social media. I do not think my followers get a sense of me as a person based on my account but maybe some of my general interests.
PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS: I have not highlighted any journalism skills and career aspirations on my social media accounts.
JOURNALISM SKILLS:
I currently do not think any of my posts show any sign that I use social media for finding stories. I do sometimes repost and post informative content to keep my followers informed and help raise awareness on important issues that are currently going on.
Quintero- My Social Media Audit Results
About You: I do have Instagram but its currently deactivated and I have Facebook, but I don’t really use it much. lastly, TikTok which is honestly the app I most use but don’t post much. I also wanted to say that on most of my accounts I never use my full real name except for Facebook. After searching nothing about me came up at all except for my high school and the list of graduation names and that was all.
Content: Usually on Instagram I just share images of myself and of new places that I go to, my family sometimes and friends. I’d say no my social media content is not an accurate reflection of my interests.
Frequency: I post maybe 5 times a month it really all depends honestly not much. I don’t really engage with my followers at all.
Personality: my posts don’t really say much, maybe it just shows how close I am to my family and friends as well as how I like to go out and experience new things. I like posting monthly photo dumps just to see what I did throughout that entire month.
Professional Interests: nope haven’t talked about my professional interests at all anywhere on the media.
Journalism skills: Nope, I do not post anything to signs of my any journalism skills.

- ABOUT YOU: After searching myself on Google I realized I don’t have a large social media presence, the first and honestly only thing you can find about me is my LinkedIn and Facebook profile. For my Facebook I don’t have a bio at all, and I only use it as a personal account to connect with family and friends. For my LinkedIn I have a small profile and bio, I have information such as current and previous jobs, education, and skills. My biography is informational to an extent, I only feature skills learned in my jobs that are not related to my major, I plan to change this. Now I do not have a professional photo. Other social medias such as Instagram and X, are for personal use and I don’t display my full name on their which is why they don’t show up on google search.
- CONTENT: I am not very active on LinkedIn but some pages that I showed interest in and have followed aligned with my future dream job as a radiologist.
- FREQUENCY: I am not a very active person on social media, I usually post on my Instagram, but I tend to do stories rather than a post that will stay up.
- PERSONALITY: Since I usually post on Instagram, I will say my posts can vary from family, music, friends, and social issues I am passionate about.
- PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS: To be honest this is something I haven’t done in any of my medias.
- JOURNALISM SKILLS: I will say this doesn’t apply to me as I am not very active or as engaging in my social medias.
Santos- MY SOCIAL MEDIA AUDIT RESULTS
ABOUT ME: I currently don’t have any active social media accounts. When I searched my name up, nothing came up. I saw a bunch of other people with my name but nothing related to me. Since I don’t have any active social media profiles, I don’t have any bios or pictures. I think that this means that I am not existent on social media. Perhaps this is a downside since I am going into a journalism career, but I feel much safer offline.
Escalet- My social Media Audit Results
About me: I reviewed that my bios are vague and not too informative i tend to keep it short and not get into details. While currently only holding about 3 social Media platforms my bios are the same but very short with almost no deep information about myself. Professional photos do not accompany my bio unless it is on a website for employment such as indeed or my courier platform of work.
Content: My content usually consist of inspiration, spirituality and current events. This is not a fair enough representation of my interests as a journalist. I find that the things im most passionate about i take longer to report on as i expect perfection. As far as my interests i feel this is a good representation of such, i constantly speak up and share about my passions.
Frequency: I post consistently on Tiktok, i make it a goal to post atleast once a day now that i understand some people expect that consistency. I also Engage with my followers everyday i have built up a community of support that have reminded me what “social” in social media truly stands for. We support each other with conversation, engagement and even financially.
Personality: My posts show my interests in humanity, human rights, logic, light humor and promoting self love and growth.
Professional interests: As for my professional interests i have displayed my interest in the past but more recently with the state of the economy i have not had the space to support my personal professional interests to the best of my ability. As a Personal stylist and style advisor i shre my work when i can but cannot make a page of it due to the lack of consistent content at the moment. Journalism i have not displayed my skills i’m working on editing my first interview to take a dive.
Journalism skills: I currently do not post signs that i use social media for finding stories, however i do share informative conversations or events to keep my peers informed on current ongoing social political and humanitarian efforts or issues.
Policarpo – My Social Media Audit Results
About Me:
I signed out of my accounts on Google and searched my name first. Nothing about me or any of my social media platforms showed up. I tried again, including my middle name and again nothing came up. I tried one more time using just my first and last name, but I also included the town where I live. I then saw a link to my Facebook profile and a link to my LinkedIn profile. I clicked on my Facebook profile first, and the information available without signing in was my name, where I went to high school, where I go to college, and where I work. I then opened up the LinkedIn page, and the information was almost the same. I could only see where I currently work, where I previously worked, and the town that I live in. There are two different photos for each of those profiles, but that’s because I haven’t updated my LinkedIn in a long time.
Content:
I only post frequently on Instagram, and even then, it’s not very frequently. I mostly post about the concerts I go to, repost sports results, or some current event issues. Mostly, I share posts about my personal life on my close friends’ stories, which are kept private and shared only with the people I have added to that specific story.
Frequency:
I don’t post frequently, maybe every few months. I used to post more often in high school but I am a lot more wary about what I post on social media.
Personality:
My posts show my adventurous side for sure. I like to share videos from my concerts and pictures throughout the day of those concerts. I do also post pictures of myself every once in a while. Mostly when I post photos from my vacations. I think you can definitely tell what kind of person I am from my posts and stories.
Professional Interests:
My social media doesn’t highlight my career aspirations or interests. Looking at my profiles, you wouldn’t get a professional vibe from them.
Journalism Skills:
I would like to say that I try to share posts that have the most credibility to them and that shows off my journalism skills, but I rarely share posts that would need to be vetted. I would like to start building a professional tone across my social media and showcasing my journalism skills.
Celaj-My Social Media Audit Results
About Me:
After searching my name on Google and Bing, I found that my social media presence is somewhat limited. The only things to come up were my old Facebook page and my current Instagram page. The first thing to also pop up was my LinkedIn profile. My bios across platforms include a professional photo and basic info about who I am, though they could be more detailed about my career goals in accounting. When it comes to Instagram I don’t have a bio as I like to keep my social media platforms very private. I also had 2 profile pictures come up on the images.
Content:
Most of my posts mix personal life, school updates, and some business-related content. I occasionally share articles or commentary on current events, but it’s not consistent enough to really showcase my professional interests. I post a lot about sports as well as places I visit and nice scenic photos.
Frequency:
I post rarely maybe a few times a month on Instagram and LinkedIn and I engage with followers sporadically. Posting more consistently could make me look more active and engaged. I will only post at a different place or some breaking news on sports and things like that.
Personality:
My posts give a glimpse into my life and interests, but there’s room to show more of my personality and voice through updates or creative content. I rarely post photos of myself as I like to share the beauty of the things around me and the fun things I’m doing.
Professional Interests:
I’ve highlighted some work and school-related accomplishments, but my platforms don’t fully showcase my career in accounting or tax. I could improve by sharing more professional achievements, insights, or industry-relevant content.
Journalism Skills:
Right now, my social media doesn’t fully show my skills in finding story ideas, sharing interesting content, or engaging with sources and followers. Using my platforms strategically could help build a stronger professional brand.
Overall:
This audit shows that my social media is a good starting point, but I could make it much stronger. By posting consistently, sharing professional content, and engaging more with my audience, I can create a digital footprint that reflects both my personality and career goals.
Jayson Goncalves – Social Media Audit Results
– My bios are not necessarily consistent across platforms. I usually don’t tend to provide much information in bios, however there is enough to see where I graduated from and the general things I like. There is a professional photo as well.
– The things I share online are generally sourced from sports. This does tie into the interested of journalism, particularly sports journalism. This is consistent across platforms.
– I would post on each platform usually monthly. No over active, but also not completely non-active. I sometimes engage with followers, typically my friends and family.
– As far as personality, my platforms usually show my personality. I typically share things such as profession, sporting interest, and humorous interests.
– I have not highlighted my journalistic interest via social media, so you would not get an overly professional overview from my social medias.
– I would say yes, my posts indicate my professional interest to a degree, since they can come from online journalism profiles, such as the “Athletic”, ESPN, and Sports Center.
