The example I chose to discuss is an 8 part video series called uncomfortable conversations with a black man. A former NFL player and now current FS1 talk show co-host Emmanuel Acho sits down with the Current NFL commissioner to discuss the effects of the racial injustices going on in America. The first episode talks specifically about the kneeling that occurred in 2016 during the national anthem in 2016.
WHAT TYPES OF MEDIA ARE PRESENT IN YOUR EXAMPLE:
- Print- Throughout the video there as subtitles at the bottom of the screen that is on automatically. At the end of every video, the name of the Series shows up at the end to let you know the video ended. And in the description section, you get some information on the current video.
- Audio- There is no way to get the audio without video for this.
- Video- Video is in a two-person setting showing the interviewer and the interviewee going back and forth with dialogue.
- Interactivity- 57 second Grammarly ad, Grammarly ad to the right of the video, 1-minute drippluggin ad, 63% ad in the top right. Up next with the next video ready and autoplay on. 75 recommended videos on the right-hand side. You can click on the profile to go to more videos. There is also a link to purchase the interviewer’s book in the description.
Interest is the main news element I would choose because a topic like this is researched off interest even though it is relevant most people will watch because of interest. I would choose conflict as the sub-element because this action of kneeling has lead to enormous amounts of conflict.
