When the COVID-19 pandemic first hit the United States, many did not see it as much of a threat. Day by day, it quickly grew into the global pandemic we now look back on and still fight against. During this time, many small business owners were at great risk of losing their businesses. With many Americans simply avoiding going outside all together, restaurants, stores, and even hair salons suffered greatly. Maya Cabigeos is the owner of a small restaurant/cafe in Brooklyn, NY named Choice Market and I met with her to gain some insight into what it was like trying to keep her business alive despite the circumstances we were in.
