Diaz-Amanpour

I totally agree with the declarations made by Christiane Amanpour after being honored for her work. She was totally right when she stated that. “The media is accused of inciting, then sympathizing, then associating — until they suddenly find themselves accused of being full-fledged terrorists and subversives.” This is unfair because a great  America should require  save freedom of press  and freedom of speech specially when they are saying the truth, also saying what is morally right and what is not. It’s very unfair how  many journalists are being condemn due to the fact that they are just sharing the truth and doing their jobs. As journalists they are suppose to open peoples eyes, report what is going on and making the public aware of situations. It’s very easy for individuals to go on the internet and end up reading  information that is not 100%  accurate due to social  media sites such as Facebook Twitter etc.

Diaz-Blog Assignment # 3

For this assignment I  listened to Linda Holmes and Stephen Thompson discussing this year’s 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. They were talking about all the events that took place this year, and how the show has change since the first MTV video music awards back in  1984.  Holmes states that the show has changed a lot because it has become more vital musically, and  performances by artists are way more sexual and graphic compared than how they used to be back in the day . This was just a normal podcast of two people talking about and award show. If I could changed anything about this podcast it would be that I would make it a little longer because it was just 12:57 long, I wish it would be a little longer.

Who Won the First Presidential Debate?

In this small article we can see different points of views  and  is like a summary of  alot of the things

that took place during the first debate of Hillary Clinton against Donald Trump . According  to

this article Trump arguably had his best moments in the opening section of the debate, which tends

to be its most-watched portion. From what I read on this website  the writer is stating  that  Hillary Clinton won.

”In the first and potentially most consequential presidential debate of 2016, the Democratic nominee presented

as composed and commanding, ticking through her policy prescriptions while landing a series of devastating blows

on Donald Trump’s record and readiness”. If I could edit something about this article it would be tittle because is

very common, and because I think that when it comes to a debate there is no winner or looser is all about people’s points

of view. I  don not think that nobody won the debate.

DIAZ- Blog Assignment #1

Steward Diaz

”Mom blames daughter’s  suicide on university for not investigating rape”

The mother of a New Jersey student who committed suicide blames the William Paterson University, because the college did not want to do anything about the situation. The student was Cherelle Locklear she was a 21-year-old black female who was found dead in the Wayne dormitory bathroom last November, two months after she was raped. The mother of the victim states that Cherelle had attempted suicide before in October before she spoke to campus administrator Theresa Bivaletz and told Bivaletz about the rape. However, it was not immediately reported to police, and the accused rapist was never questioned by police, or receive a punishment by the school.

I felt like this article was pretty decent, because it had a section for comments and it shows you a  short video were they explain the reader what really happened to the girl, but in the other side I feel like it should’ve have more writing.
